Is America trying to lose the Fed Cup again?

They are using Rolle and King, which are very low ranked and I have never seen king win a fed cup match, are playing these top 10 russian players. Harkleroad is good, Davenport is good, and we have the William sisters which are really good, so why dont they get together and win the Fed cup? They havnt won since 2000, It just looks hopeless for any team to beat the russians in my opinion.

All the American very-good players opted out citing various medical reasons + need of rest before the French Open.

Garrison ended up with one super experienced player mentoring a bunch of less-experienced ones.  I guess the idea was these new Americans would become the "next generation" of Fed Cup players, but I think everyone knew before the matches started this weekend that the US had basically conceded victory to the Russians.

(In my opinion, the Russians probably would have won even with the best US players out there.)

russia won.. 3-2 i think russians are more loyal to their country than americans... that's what i think...

Venus is taking a break from tennis.  Not sure about why Davenport and Serena not playing.  Even with the Williams sisters and Davenport, it still would be quite difficult against the Russian team.  Russia has too many good players :)
