Is America turning out to be the broke down car on the front lawn of the world?

You would think that with all our resources, we would be better able to take care of ourselves.

Instead of frivolous law suites, firms could work together to recheck all the laws. The ones that are completely unconstitutional would be posted and thrown out; the questionable ones would be reevaluated by the people. That way separation of Church and State could actually happen. Statements would be made by what the people want not organizations.

Education could be better monitored, if parents rotated schedules for positions in their children's schools. Since we have moved away from an agricultural system, school could be year round with the hours of 7 to 5 so that the parents could have less after school care worries. And what about boarding school options for children in troubled homes?

If we actually took advantage of the space available instead of a constant snatch and grab for control, we could eliminate the homeless problem.

Basically, do we like being screwed up?

  1. 1.  If a law was completely Unconstitutional, it would have ALREADY thrown out.  That's what the Supreme Court does.

    2.  How would fimrs working together to recheck laws lead to a separation of Chruch and State?

    3.  It is not the Federal government's job to regulate education.  It should clearly be an area reserved to the States.  If you want to improve education, get the Federal government OUT of it, and spend the savings more wisely.

    4.  Schools are not babysitters.  We do not function as a place to drop of kids so you can go to work.

    5.  We HAVE boarding schools for troubled kids.

  2. I've never heard it described that way before, but you add so0me humor to an otherwise sad situation.  The country is moving slowly but surely toward an "us against the world" mentality.  This has ended up being calamitous for America every time it has happened.

  3. what bothers me about America right now, is that our government is spending so much outside of the country and failling to spend the same in our country. There is so much to change right now. i don't know where to start, but we have to leave the other countries alone and stick to our own issues.

  4. What is your question???

Anyway I like your image of the U.S. as the beater car on the front lawn of the world.  I think that other than militarily the U.S. is becoming less important.  All empires fade.  Look at Rome, the British etc.

Certainly the U.S. no longer can claim the moral high ground in the world today, and in that respect I like your image.

  5. Unfortunatly I think that 99% of Americans totally agree that our domestic problems coupled with our horrible foreign policy is leading to a decline in our society.  In the past, the Government was afraid of its people, since that is what a democracy is (power to the people) however it is quite the opposite today.  I

I wish we knew how to take back our power from these career politicians that will say anything to get your vote, then do anything when they get it.

  6. It would certainly appear as though!  If Americans would stop being so selfish the US wouldn't appear to be the black eye of the world.  You should run for President and I could be the VP!

  7. Great analogy. It seems that way, doesn't it. It's obvious the current administration isn't doing as much as it should. We'll see with the next president. I have high hopes yet no illusions. The best idea I think is a do-it-yourself approach. Try growing your own food or participating in a community garden. If you have kids, be active in their school as much as you can. Teach them how to be citizens of the world. Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity or a food bank. I know there's only some many hours in the day but if everyone did something, then the powers that be would have to go along with what the people want. When I'm overwhelmed, I remind myself that no one's going to do it for me. Maybe they will. But that attitude keeps me motivated...

  8. That "broke down car" is #1 in almost every respect - military, economic, agricultural, etc.

Oh yeah, OUR laws are stupid.  Did you know that Briget Bardot was just (like, yesterday) convicted of saying on a website that "muslim's were dangerous to France"?  That's it?  5-year suspended sentence for something she said?

Schools from 7-5 to act as babysitters.  Eliminate the homeless problem - ah, the utopian words of a socialist.
