"Soccer" by far. American football actually isn't very popular at all anywhere but the United States. In other countries it's seen about as popular as rugby is in the US. Also, be aware that in other English-speaking countries, "soccer" isn't spelled as futbol, it's spelled football. Futbol is for spanish I believe.

Well, the notion that futbol/football/soccer has many different names should give you a hint towards the answer.  American football is almost solely played in America, at least professionally.  There are a few places, but they do not have the fan support that comes with soccer.  

By far, soccer is more popular.  By far.

For a start it's spelt the same, Football not 'futbol'.

Of course it's football that's the most popular world wide. Doesn't the word 'American' in front of you're Rugby 'wanna be' sport tell you that it's only played and watched in America.

Where as football or soccer to you, is played in every single country around the world.

You must be joking? American football doesn't even come close to being as popular world wide as real football(soccer). It was my understanding that 92 million people watched the last super bowl. The last world cup was watched by over a billion.......Nuf Said.
