Is Amsterdam safe city to travel for a woman on her own?

I'm bit getting nervous, as this is my first trip to the country I've never been before. My hotel is situated about 5,10 mins from

Central station,but it hasn't got any restaurants inside so I have to go out in the evening to get something to eat.

You will be ok. But dont go to the red light district cos guys might think ur a hooker.

Its relatively safe( no worse than London) but keep to the main streets and watch out for pickpockets they almost got my wallet but I copped what was happening

Yes it is a safe city. I have a friend who lives here in the states now but he was born there and grew up there. you should always be careful no matter where you travel but generally speaking, it is a safe city.

amsterdam is a dangerious place at time. The best thing to do if you have trouble is make as much noise as possible. Or try to make a lot of comotion towards the person.

As in Amsterdam the laws are very strict for criminals and they will be tried by hollands rules. We on the other hand would be taken care of by our countrys.

Trust me Amsterdam has a harsh legal system for criminals like that.

i loved Amsterdam, when i went it was with a girlfriend, we had a great time just wandering around, but we got lost and ended up in the red light district and i was propositioned by the biggest lady i have ever seen in my life and we just ran for cover, it was a fantastic experience and i hope that you have a good time.

i should think that you should be safe to travel on your own, i can not see Amsterdam being different from any other country, you might even be safer there than you are in some other country's, have a good holiday, i am sure you will be all right

most areas are safe even in the red light district but you shouldn't take unnecessary chances

You will be safe in the daytime amsterdam is a very relaxed chilled out city and the people are friendly but its not safe to go out at night on your own,its the same in any city really even for a man its not wise to walk around in a foreign city that you know nothing about at night.

No it isnt, just be careful, and stay where there are plenty of people, dont let it ruin your stay tho Amsterdam is a beautiful place
