  2. Could you define your question a little better?

Who is the best MMA fighter within a sanctioned event?  or is the question who is the best fighter in the world of MMA when the rules are thrown out the window?

The marketing machines of the MMA business try to convince you you are watching the best MMA figthers in the world.  I happen to know martial artists and they would never fight in a sanctioned event for money.  Even if you exclude that group that won't fight for money, I am 100% convinced that you will always find someone better.

So Anderson might be the best commercial fighter, but there is no way he is the best fighter in the world.

  3. the world no i would say he is the best fighter in the universe

  4. Eh, he's ok. He could probably do well in real martial arts.

  5. He's the best pure striker in the world, imo. However, let's say he fought Fedor Emelianenko at his natural weight. Fedor took Mirko Crocop at his best and has taken some of the best K1 has had to offe,r so I don't think Silva would be able to KO him that easily- he would definitely be better on the feet, though. If Silva got taken down, which is more than possible, Fedor would destroy him on the floor. Silva used to be horrible on the ground before he got his BJJ black belt from Nogueira (he was completely dominated by Daiju Takase, a nobody). Nogueira, the so-called submission magician, had no answer to Fedor's offence on the ground. So, no, I don;t think Silva is the best in the world- Fedor and Penn are both better than him on the ground.

Guy below me, yes, we're talking about the sport of MMA. At no point did he imply anythng different.

"fedor is so good then y aint he in the ufc?

    3. rampage/bisping/liddell/st. pierre/A. SILVA(people who could beat fedor)"

You have no clue what you're talking about, my friend. Aside from old man Couture (who doesn't even want to be there, that's how much it sucks), name one heavyweight in the UFC worth fighting. One.

How does my logic suck? Silva sucked on the ground, and learned everything he knew from Nogueira. Nogueria was dominated by Fedor on the ground. End of story.

"#5. bj penn is good but hasnt touched silva in recent acheivements"

So, you think Silva could take Penn on the ground? Because that's what I actually said.
