  1. Anthropology is interesting to study, but remember it's all guesses and lies that have been accepted by society, but the egomaniacs that teach it, know it to be false, but to admit it would be to loose face and creditability. So the same old falsehoods are taught to generation after generation.

The universe is expanding, has been since the big bang. Now think about this: Homo Gadictaplotts is said to be 50 million years old.

O K  Now let's shrink the universe by 50 million years. How close would the Earth be to the Sun???   Nothing could live in that blazing environment.   THINK  about it. LIES LIES LIES

  2. I'm more into biological anthropology. That's a very hands on thing and you need to not be squeamish about human remains. Cultural anthropology bores me a bit.

Be prepared for some very heated arguments; anthropologists tend to end up in the middle of all kinds of arguments about everything.

  3. Yes. It's the best class in college, in my opinion. But be sure to take social-cultural anthropology. Physical anthropology is way different, it's like studying ancient human bones and stuff. Interesting too,  but much different than cultural anthropology. It sounds like you might like Introduction to Sociology also.

  4. It can be but it really depends on the course.  The study of human societies has traditionally divided into several fields, including mainstream Anthropology, based on ethnographic study (ie researchers hanging out with other cultures and writing their impressions down as a kind of research report), Sociology (which tends to look at your own culture, often using statistical methods), and Biological Anthropology (which looks at things like human evolution and genetic influences on social behaviour).

Some anthropology courses still stick to these divisions, others take a more holistic approach.  You want a course that takes the holistic angle, and is prepared to combine, for example, ethnographic with sociological methods.  The courses which do that are really interesting.  The more traditional ones are tedious and preachy.

  5. You'll never get a job with that degree

  6. Yes, the most interesting.

Is ended the most multidisciplinary between Social Sciences.

    Congratulations!

  7. I received an anthropology degree at university and absolutely loved being an anth major. The courses are by far the most interesting classes I have ever taken. The downside is that there are no job opportunities for someone with just an anthropology degree. If you choose to major in the subject you'll need to supplement it with a useful degree. I chose math and economics. If you're just looking to take classes, I'd highly recommend it.
