I have my Biology teacher to thank for me discovering this, people are trying to use vegitable oil and othere similar products as alternate fuel sources, it's not the anwser to our problems! My our class heavily researched it and it's as if no one is aware of using algae as an alternate fuel source, but then again I did'nt know until my teacher told me about it. Don't follow the pack the blindness and ignorance and think vegitable oil, biodesil ect. is the anwser. We, as the world, would have to starve ourselves to use biodesil sucessuflly. You need to know the facts before you choose a side. I hope I got through to some of you. Thank you

  1. uhmmm ewww

why would we want to use algae thats gross!

  2. There is a little work being done on algae and you can find it on line. They grow algae in a greenhouse in plastic tubing. The best way to grow enough algae to make a difference is on the ocean using large farming practice. I posted several questions about doing tihs but no one had any good answers. Its a big project but all the energy needed by humans could be made from algae grown on the ocean. The best solar energy system.

  3. YES PEOPLE ARE WORKING ON THIS AND IT IS MORE PRODUCTIVE, CHEAPER AND ALL THE GOOD THINGS YOU WANT TO HEAR.

  4. A company I spent a lot of years with grows algae in huge ponds from starts in a test tube and then uses this to feed shellfish seed. Algae is very easy to grow and equally as easy to turn into methane. They actually produce quite a rich gas product when composted as they have less of the hard to convert materials associated with them.

  5. Many of us are aware of it.  I have been trying to promote an ethanol plant for CO2 production to enrich the water the algae grown in to improve their production.  Colorado State University has been working on the project for several years and National Energy Research Lab has been downplaying the idea for a long time.  There are other viable sources of CO2 that could also be used.  But not even the Global Warming nuts are getting on the band wagon.  Sad  All of our energy intimately is derived from the sun and photosynthesis which requires CO2 but it is supposed to be a ban thing.

  6. nope
