Is Anyone else getting tired of hearing about...?

Question

Gymnastics, especially when you don't play it or watch it at all. I just want to watch some of the other sports without having to hear about gymnastics every 2 seconds.

NOPE!!!!! I love gymnastics! Gymnastics, Swimming and Track, are really popular in the Olympics. I think those gymnasts are amazing!

Trying to get people to drop that subject would be like trying to convince your own mother that you are not her child, but yes very sick and tired of hearing people moan about it.

edit: I think it is much to do about the age controversy really. Some people cannot let it go so they give the gymnastics constant coverage in order to drive home a rather droll point.

Not really! Gymnastics is my favorite sport in the olympics. I watch everything else too, but that's my favorite.

Im not. Even though i can't even do a cartwheel it is very entertaining and intresting to watch. Why don't you record the shows and fast-forward through sports you don't want to watch, thats what i do.....

Well it's based off the popularity of the sport, which has always revolved around Gymnastics, Swimming, and Track.  Those events will ususally trump anything else.

Add in the fact that Gymnastics scoring is COMPLETELY arbitrary and you've always got some controversy to talk about.

I feel u. When I think Olympics I wanna see track and field.No disrespect to the gymnasts and all the hard work they put in, but I could care less about gymnastics. I think alot of it has to do with the fact that u have this judging system that seems to favor China. And we hate to be cheated out of a medal or two

I think it deserves much more attention than say...running fast.  There is 100 times the talent to be great at gymnastics than it takes to run fast on a track.  Other than exercise and repetition what talent does it take to run fast?  Car thieves and gang bangers can run fast too.  Gymnastics on the other hand takes years of discipline and dedication to master.  I love all the attention gymnastics receives--plus it places great role models in front of young girls to emulate.  These girls are not walking freak shows covered in cheap, prison tattoos, and bizarre body piercings.  They don't showboat and pound their chest after each performance yelling, "Please look at me.  Somebody please look at me!  My parents ignored me as a kid so now I want YOU to be forced to look at me."  They simply demonstrate class, refinement, dignity, grace, and talent by going out, performing, smiling to the crowd, waving, and letting their talent do the talking for them.  If more athletes were like the girls involved in gymnastics, the world of sports would be a better place.

Yeah.  It's nice if people from our country win gold, but really I'm not interested in it and watched maybe five minutes of it total.
