  1. Apartheid was a government policy and not only does that policy no longer exist but the government itself.Apartheid ended a long time ago. There is however still racism from both sides. What is happening  currently is that the black majority is marginalizing the minority groups, blacks are no longer the victims as they are in control of the country now and as such are responsible for themselves and their own actions,as they hold all the power and their policies are an example of that.

  2. A white male has absolutely no chance of getting a job. So you tell me if there is still racism?

  3. Yes for many it still exists. The last time I was in South Africa (Year end 2006) I visited and stayed with Afrikaans family friends. They had an elderly black lady/maid that cooked, did the washing and dishes, cleaned the house etc. (They have a huge house) But this old lady had to go on her knees and clean the wall to wall carpeting in every room, with a brush and scoop for crying out loud. I was completely baffled, it made no sense. Till I noticed a vacuum cleaner in a spare room. I asked them why she is using a brush and scoop to clean the carpets if they have a vacuum cleaner. Their response was that she will only break it. Whaaaat? And when I asked if she has broken one before they simply said no, but only because they have not allowed her to use it. According to them she is too stupid  to know how to use a vacuum cleaner and they are far too expensive. This old lady could speak English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu. She could read and write. She told me she does not have a contract with them, no medical aid…zip. She begged me please not to make waves or say anything because she might lose her job. I confronted them, left everything else out in order to protect her but made an issue out of her not being allowed to use the vacuum cleaner. It escalated; they threw me out, although I already had my bags packed to leave. Sis!

I gave her the money I planned on giving them for my stay!

Whoever gave me a TD...I would like to see your response when you see your granny forced to scoop dirt up from a carpet on her hands and knees...would you give her a thumbs up...and say go granny go?

Why is it so difficult for people to see that certain things are downright WRONG!

  4. BEE and AA laws are made and less followed in many companies. However, these laws are forcing people to do somethings they do not like., more especially gvt dependant companies. The attitude revolves around "Having a board meeting with a monkey", as many called blacks, I find this horrible.

There are two companies I know that they wrote that blacks occupies professional jobs while they were hired as stupid labourers and like that they submitted the false statistics to dpt of labour. What a horrible mentality.

The most important thing is "South Africans need to change the attitude, they are caught in the old days world, and the world is going on". In 50 yrs down the line alot will start what i think it will be called South African renaissance, because they will realise what this current generation has lost.

    WHAT A SHAME.

  5. All that Res said is true and correct.

  6. The word "apartheid" is becoming so boring. It ended almost 15 years ago!!!! I watched a program the other day where a black 9 year old was asked how apartheid influenced him?????? He wasn't even born during that time! But anyway, no, the black people are not still being oppressed. AA & BEE is everywhere. There are no way that they are still oppressed because the government is making sure that black people are put in high paying jobs. But the reality is that not everyone can be put in a high paying job, director etc. And that is how it was during apartheid as well. Not all whites were rich, my parents sure wasn't. Everyone can't be the boss, there have to be employers and employees. Personally I think if you can do the job then you deserve it, no matter what your skin color. The person who does the job the best should get the job, period. And if anyone give me a thumbs down on this it will mean that you are one of the people in SA who thinks he should get everything for free...pasella. That's not how it's supposed to be, if you work hard and do your part you will be rewarded. You shouldn't be given a job or not getting the job because of your skin color...you should be getting it because of your competence and qualifications.

  7. No, the roles have reversed now... We now have the White Apartheid... Even though no one will admit it!

What annoys me the most is, I was 7 in 1994 when Apartheid was abolished, so, what exactly did I have to do with it? I was never racist towards any black person, so why now, do we have black people hating on white people who had nothing to do with the oppression?

  8. There is no apartheid but there is racism. If you just read the questions and answers from S.A. on Y.A. you can understand the degree of racism that still  floating around after fifteen years of democracy. The country is still divided. Many S.A. African are preaching a superficial harmony among the different races.Yes there are mix marriages and mixed residential areas that does not mean the majority are living the Rainbow Nation Dream

  9. No it's now the whites who are oppressed!
