Question:

Is Appio – San Giovanni a nice neighborhood in Rome?

I may be moving to Rome to attend AUR in Rome and was shopping around for apartments. Apartments in Rome are pretty expensive especially having to convert from $ to €. I found a cheaper-than-the-rest ($2154/month) apartment located in Appio San Giovanni. I don't know how far away from the school it is, if I'll have a hard time reaching the school, how far it is from museums, sites, restaurants, and nightlife or even if it's a relatively nice neighborhood. Can anyone from Rome help me out? The school told us to look at the Trastevere/Monte Verde/Giancolense area but it's really expensive ($3000+). I also don't want to live in a really touristy spot and I don't want to live in a really bad neighborhood or a place where I'll have a hard time getting to school. Can anyone give me more information?

  2. Hi, I'm Alessandro italian and I live in Rome.

the AUR is far from sangiovanni, if you have to rent go somewhere nearest the area.

You can find something cheaper more centrally located, look in craiglist or "wanted in rome".

Usually the student they share apartments to devide bills and rent; in this way you can spend6 600/800 dollars for a room in a nice apartment centrally located.

contactme if you need more info
