Is Apple OS X just as compatible with software than Windows XP?

  1. Unless it is specifically written to be cross platform (which usually means that it will use some form of virtual machine such as Java or Perl) then software written for OS X will not work on Windows and vice versa (although you can use emulators such as WINE).


  2. Although there are a lot of Mac versions of Windows apps there would be a greater number of Windows applications over all due to the size of the platform although a lot of the best applications are actually Mac apps.

    There are Mac versions of all the standard Microsoft apps like Office:mac, Adobe and heapes of other stuff.
