Is Apple making a legit decision by installing the KillSwitch feature in it's iPhone?

Apple state's that it's KillSwitch code is only for emergency use, but are they justified to even use it?

I personally believe that it is a legit decision. If for some reason an app gets through there screening processes which they very well might because we are only human and say said app sends a virus through your contacts list that shuts down all phone capabilities well if they find out what app is doing this they can quickly mass remove the program and stop the spread of the virus so i honestly believe that it is justified.
