Is Applebee's a good job?

I'm hoping to get a call from them in the next couple of days. I live in a small town in Georgia. Do you think I'd make good tips? What's the most and least anyone's ever made in tips? How is working at Applebee's? Do you get paid every week or every two weeks?

Depends what your ambitions are. You will likely make good tips on busy shifts. A good friend of mine was a manager (corporate store) there and was just let go. He had described it as similar to having a burning tire around your neck, but that was just him. Your base wage will only be about $2.35 or so per hour, so do a good job and make those tips!

If this is your first job as a waitress, then applebee's is an okay start. Because it's a restaurant designed for middle income families, you'll get a wide variety of people in, some may tip well, others not so much. Ultimately, if you want to make good money in the restaurant industry, your best bets are being a bartender, or working at more upscale restaurants, but you generally need experience to work there.
