Is Arsenal going to bid for Emilio Nsue in January?
According to the latest speculations coming from Spain, Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger is monitoring the growth of RCD Mallorca forward Emilio Nsue for a potential transfer. The Mallorca youth product was at loan at Real Sociedad where he impressed despite
scoring just five goals. The French tactician has been impressed by the forwards versatility as Nsue can play both as a striker and a winger.
Nsue has a bright future ahead of him. The Los Bermellones forward has represented Spain at every youth level ever since he appeared for the Spain U-16 in 2005. The forward was in good form last night as a modest Mallorca outfit drew against FC Barcelona
t Camp Nou. Nsue scored the equaliser for his team in a 1 – 1 draw.
Mallorca had been in imperious form last season as the club managed to achieve a UEFA Europa League place. However, the club was immersed in a financial crisis and the club went in to administration. On June 28th, 2008, a Spanish consortium lead
by Lorenzo Serra Ferrer bought the club. UEFA however, decided not to allow the club participation in the continental competition as a punishment.
Wenger’s interest in the forward is a result of consistent injuries to Gunners’ strikers. Robin Van Persie and Andrey Arshavin are long term injury causalities. Van Persie for all his class is mostly struggling for fitness and the club signed Marouane Chamakh
on a free transfer earlier this season. Theo Walcott has also been a consistent injury worry for Arsenal. Since Nsue also plays out on the wing, Arsenal will add backup for both the positions with a single signing.
Keeping Mallorca’s financial woes in mind, Wenger is ready to approach Mallorca with a bid that will test the resolve of La Ensaymada Mecánica. A 7 million Euro bid for the player is likely to be enough for the 210year-old player’s signature.
