  1. I think it is...

  2. I watched a show about Atlantis that made sense to me...the legend began back in the day of the Egyptians when a thriving island nation, Thera, located in the Mediterranean Sea fell victim to a tsunami/earthquake...here read about the theories..

    No one knows for sure...

Personally I kind of discount Atlantis being located near the island of Bimini...

  3. No, Plato invented it. Scientists say it didn't exist.

  4. unknown

  5. This answer is going to be very vague...

I remember reading somewhere that there was this 'psychic' wo helped find stuff. I think he predicted something like the sinking of the titanic or something... But anyway, he also predicted the site of Atlantis but no one listened and it wasn't til after he died that people checked it out. What they found was lots of pots and vases and stuff (It was underwater). Soeone will probably no more about it than me.

    Might aswell check out Wikipedia!

It originated from a politician called plato describing it.

  6. We aren't sure.  All that we know about it comes from the ancient greek philosopher Plato.

  7. it is an unknown. i believe that it may have been based on a similar culture, one far in advance than most at the time, and even now to some extent. all we know of Atlantis comes from the wrting the Timeus and the Critias by Plato, who could have just made it all up to use as a device for the discussion.

  8. yes i live in atlantis. the closest place to atlantis is malta

  9. Yes.

    It did existed.

  10. Yes it is.

  11. i think it is

  12. I believe that they were an Aztec-like society and what they lived on wasn't so much underwater, but, instead it was more like an island paradise with A LOT of water in and on it. There was a shift in the Earth which destroyed Atlantis. This is the typical reasoning.

  13. don't ask me.

    i also don't know.

  14. no evidence has been found as yet.  there are many theories, but nothing concrete.

  15. Atlantis may have in fact existed for the purpose of the Sumerians span with advanced thinking and learning. The ancient Khemites (Egyptians) called this land 'Amenti' it meant the land of darkness the land of Amen the Egyptian stage of the consciousness for darkness. It also meant the land of the west. If you read a book called ' The Emerald Tablets of Thoth' he mentions this place and said that the people became in darkness after their ignorance losing all their sciences and wisdoms thus Atlantis being destroyed. I believe Noah and all these flood hero's from many epics were dwellers of Atlantis prior.

  16. There is no physical evidence for the existence of Atlantis, however, this could be said of many "mythological ancient cities" until their actual discovery. The city of Troy was once said to me mythical, and it was actually dug through before archaeologists realized what it was.

There has been much effort to located this potentially "lost continent" by actual archaeologists, and while some believe they have found potential locations, none can make the claim that they have found Atlantis.
