Is Australia considered a part of Asia?

I'm a White Australian and very proud of it, my gf is South Esat Asian and pretty hot! Anyway, is our country becoming a part of Asia, or has it ever been a part of Asia. I always thought we were more 'South Pacific' or 'Australasian', definately not Asian, but thats what i heard?

  15. Asia is a continent. Europe is a continent. Australia is the only continent that is also a nation.  It is not Asian.  Even if China 'bought' Australia, it wouldn't be Asian.

  17. I'm not patriotic at all, and I love the idea of having links to Asia.  I also love the term Australasia, Oceania, not to mention Humanity.  I overlap them all quite happily and ignore what is 'official' because I don't believe people need to be forcefully segregated like that.
