  1. The Azores are islands in the Atlantic, and are part of Portugal, which is part of Europe.  I don't know if it would be correct to say that the Azores are European though.


  2. they are part of Europe politically, and geographically are closest to Europe as well.

    I used to live there.

  3. The Azores are not a part of any continent.  They straddle the convergence of three tectonic plates:  North American, Eurasian and African plates.
