The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to increase the cap on foreign recruits in Ranji teams has drawn mixed reactions, with several state units welcoming the move but strongly objecting to the conditions set in the name of "quality control".While the BCCI's technical committee decided on Saturday to increase the number of 'guest' players from three to four, it also added a clause that requires the cricketer to have played at least 10 Tests or 20 ODIs. However, some associations say since they will be spending the money, they don't want the BCCI to dictate terms.

  1. No then it will really tough for the budding players as the competition within the domestic level intensifies. Many talented players can miss the opportunity to find a place in Ranji team. Since players from Ranji team can go through the National Level

  2. I'm not happy about increasing the number of non Indian players for the teams. You don't want a repeat of what happened with English County cricket where the top players, both batsmen and bowlers, were from overseas. The English team fared poorly during this time.

Every extra player brought in means one less local player will get a go.

  3. Yes, I think this decision of BCCI has taken the right decision as it will help the Ranji Teams to improve upon their standard of playing and sharing the experience of the international players with our young talented players is definitely going to make the players capable of playing International cricket with maturity & performance will also be on the higher side........ Well Done BCCI, going well atleast at this point of time....

  4. As a matter of fact ,.BCCI's decision  to have only .4 overseas players for a team is really reasonable  & 3 players at given time

as playing 11 is justifiable too~

  5. it would increase quality of domestic cricket
