Is Balcony included in the total size of a studio apartment?

I was told that the size of my future studio apartment will be 600 square feet and it has balcony in it.

Is the 600 square feet usually includes the area of the balcony or excludes the area of the balcony?

No it isn't..floor space is calculated in heated and cooled areas only...Porches and balconies are not usually included in this figured..it is actually supposed to be called "living space" when they calcultae the size of a rental..

It shouldn't be. The 600 square foot size calculation should represent 'living space' only, which does not typically include balconies.

You could see if there is a floor plan available to look at, or call the landlord/realtor and ask!
