I would hope so. It's a major waste of police, courts, and prison resources that could be used on more serious problems that are frequently not dealt with because they are more difficult targets.

Oh, that is one hot issue alright. I mean, there's really nothing else we need to be concerned about except giving someone the right to get high. War, hunger, crime, global warming and last but not least, the deficit. Who really cares about legalizing weed?
