Is Barcelona (Diagonal Mar??) area good for a hol?

Seen a fantastic apartment block in Barcelona, I think it's in the Diagonal Mar??? (not sure if that's right) area. Me and hubby would love to visit and immediate area seems ok for kids (ie near beach, play area etc. Seems like a good balance for us, ie. adults taking in some of the culture etc but also something for the kids.Anyone been here and is this a good choice for a week away in October? (kids, pre-school).

Yeah I think you'll enjoy it!

I live in Diagonal Mar and its got everything you need. Beach only a stones throw. Shopping Mall. Some decent restaurants around the area and fairly safe area of town.

At the same time its only a short tram ride away from family attractions like seaworld and the Imax cinema or a 15 min metro ride from the cultural and shopping heartland of Barcelona.

In fact go for it....you'll love it.

Yes you'll have a great time. Restaurants are reasonably priced, good transport connections - underground, trams and buses. Famous black & yellow taxis are efficient too. Make sure to visit the free "Son et Lumière" Fountain show at  9 o'colock every friday and Saturday night at the Plaça Espayna. Loads of art, culture and shopping.
