  1. Yess hes a goner

  2. There is nothing wrong with a bit of biff in the game the AFL has gone soft, but that is no excuse for Hall to punch someone not once but twice, it is a disgrace.

He needs to get his mind right and move to a different club

  3. i think he should quit afl and take up boxing again

he seems to be really good at that...

  4. He's finished.  He will get taunted and picked on, get no respite from the umpires, and will crack again.  He's a liability.

Cheerio and don't forget to shut the door.

Also there's no future for him in boxing.  Anger is a character trait that you can't afford to have in that sport.

  5. i certainly hope so. however my gut tells me that the club will play the right political card by indefinitely sidelining him and he will be back in 3 or 4 weeks.

would be nice to see barry eat a cheap nasty hit and taste his own gutless medicine

  6. I reckon this was brewing quietly in the back ground

Add fuel to the rumor that Sydney is after Brendan Fevola

    .

  7. I think that at the moment Hall needs to focus on getting his health and temper under control before he plays again. I think that even if he does return though, he won't be the same player, he's past the glory days of his career, I mean he's 31 years old.

  8. no he will come back

  9. I think he might be cracked!!

  10. i dont think he's finished

maybe that's my optimism because i go for the swans

    but he'll be back

he just needs to get better :)

for now the swannies just have to focus on working as a team (without bazza)- they needa focus on playing better than they did on saturday!

  11. Well as a Swans supporter I was p@##%%..d off with his performance on Saturday night.  The Swans were flat especially in the first quarter and Collingwood were brilliant on the weird surface at ANZ Stadium but when they did try to penetrate their forward line he was giving away free kicks right left and centre and that really annoyed me and I have seen him stuff up the team in previous games over the years plus missing goals he should kick.   It is all the media c**p that annoys me too how Barry has reformed blah blah blah.  Well surely after being out for a number of weeks he should have done what he said he would do....Be known as a footballer not a thug.  He has had problems alright like with his eyesight and stuff.    He just doesn't epitomize (big word that!) the "Bloods" ethos and who knows if he wasn't so cranky at times maybe they'd have won some of the games they lost in the past.  It has always amazed me that he was seldom taken off the ground by Roos and I was relieved to see that happen for a change on Sat. night.  And yes I think he might be past his hay day plus missed a few weeks too of match play.  I for one like Nick Davis and I wish they could slot him in.  If it hadn't been for Nick we'd never have been in that 2005 Grand Final so give the guy a chance - we can't all be slaves to training (shouldn't have said that).  Plus Barry Hall played like s@#$%%t in the 2006 Grand Final and is or was supposed to be one of the Captains.  Give me Adam Goodes any day for Captain material merely on the grounds of his inspirational play - no all talk no action from him.

Hey maybe we can get Fev!!!  Love the way he plays.

  12. im sure he'll be back, but he will never be like the way he was.

  13. Yeah, what an idiot! I reckon he's ended his own career.

I notice they've stopped doing the ads for Barry Hall Hall too...

  14. Nah -not finished but he'll hang around about three years too long and fade into obscurity.

I don't think he'll ever be considered a 'great' in the long run.  He did have a few fair claims though the other night - umps don't give him easy free kicks - so to some degree I can understand his frustration, but he needs to do what Cam Mooney has done and fly really low under their radar

  15. **I think it'd be a real pitty if it was the finish for Barry Hall playing AFL.  He's a good player and deserves to go out on a high, not a low like this.

He's made a few stupid mistakes this year, I don't think anyone would deny that but it's not worthy of finishing his career over it.  He just needs to learn to keep his cool.**

  16. Maybe he was just taking himself off the payroll so the swans can afford Fevola.

Or maybe he was just showing off in front of Fevola - who was up to see the game.

  17. Yes . Loser. Then again , pretty much  what  you  would expect from a football player.

  18. I hope not, I still think he has a lot to offer.  It's just that people want to goad him and consequently he responds.  Not the way he should but he responds in a way that well draws attention and criticism.

I hope the Brisbane Lions pick him up, I think he can change all he needs is the right environment and mentoring  People can change.

  19. i think he should quit afl and do boxing. he's a better boxer than a footballer. he will make alot more money and it doesnt really matter if he loeses his temper in boxing

  20. He is a prick.

Someone should punch his face in.

  21. NO!!!!!!!!!!!

he isnt he was suspended but will be bak trust me!!!!

    woooooooooooooooot go the swanies!!!

  22. He is no worse than what he was like when he played at St.Kilda.

He is a character in the mould of 'Big Bad' Carl Ditterich, Robbie Muir, Ron Andrews, Mopsy Fraser, David Rhys-Jones, Robert DiPierdomico, Leigh Matthews and many, many more.

It is players like him who stop the game from becoming sterile & boring.

Every era of footy has had its 'bad men' & characters, and there are not enough of them around. Especially in an age when you get rubbed out for giving a 'hip & shoulder'...something that they promote in Auskick, even though you are not allowed to tackle at that age, but is encouraged at senior level (wheres the sense in that!).

I hope 'Big Bad' Barry Hall is still playing for a couple of years yet. He adds a lot of colour to the game. Plus, dont forget, he is also South Melbourne/Sydney's ONLY Premiership captain since the 1930's, so he must have some talent...not just a thug, as a lot of people seem to get great joy out of saying.

Long Live Bazza (and I am a Collingwood man!)
