  1. I only watch baseball when I cant fall asleep and the sleeping pills and tranquilizer didn't work. I don't really consider it a sport though.

  2. unless ur a r****d yes it is its a game of skill strenght agility velocity and compitition thats deff a sport duhhh

  3. Baseball is listed in Yahoo under sports, therefore it must be a sport. Baseball scores are found in the newspaper inside the sports pages. Baseball highlights are played during the sports section on the news. ESPN, a network dedicated to ah sports, has all kinds of programing and highlights. In conclusion if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, well you know how this one ends.

  4. Of course it. Thats like asking if brocolli is a vegetable.

  5. Yes, baseball is a sport. You don't have to think real hard to figure that out.

  6. gahh stop it~ please stop!!

err soorry i'm quite spastic from a lot of random, idiotic questions but to answer yours

of course it is!! why wouldn't it be?!

  7. Well, yea, it is.  Of course it is.

You made the point of how baseball have so many overweight ppl it appears.  But every league of every sport have some overweight ppl. Basketball have big men.  If you're not atleast 6'4, you're a midget in the NBA.  Football have more fat guys than MLB and NBA combined.

Theres running, theres plays, theres strategy and hustle.  Baseball...ahh..there is a sport.

    Check and mate.

  8. Well yes its physical, its routine, it has teams (which definitely shows a sport), and it gets people in shape as far as I'm concerned its a sport.

  9. americas pastime and your saying it is not a sport

  10. The baseball season is 162 games. The football season is 16 games. So one could argue a baseball player needs only 10% of the physical exertion per game to equal the total for a football season.

If one is to use physical exertion as a basis for the definition.. you should add football to the proverbial fence. If you argue positional players in baseball are active 5-6 times in a game.. the same argument can be applied to kickers.. punters.. and a good portion of the special teams. In addition.. if one is to include weight as a basis for the definition.. football linemen should be on the top of the list.. no? You can argue a football lineman performs his respective task while existing as overwieght.. but I can argue the same for most of the players you listed in the blog.. especially Babe Ruth.. who if you had done some research would have learned was a physical specimen early in his career.. both with the Red Sox and the Yankees. It happens.

For the most part I agree with the prerequisites you applied in the blog.. although I'd undoubtly include baseball as a sport.

  11. Of course its a sport.  It takes athletic ability and amazing skill.  In fact, there is nothing harder to do in the sporting world than to hit a baseball.

  12. No, baseball is not a sport.

    It is a life.

Eat it, drink it, breathe it, sleep it.

  13. Yes of course it a sport. It's not an Olympic sport because the Europeans don't play the game. Its more a thing of the americas and asia. If your not going to say baseball is a sport than you should seriosly reconsider ping pong being a sport, golf, track and field. I mention track in field because you can have very poor technique but make up for it in speed. I really don;t have an argument for ping pong. In golf you don't have to be athletic. Look at John Daily, Yeah I know he sucks now but can he hit a baseball, can he throw a baseball 90 plus miles per hour can he throw a football 40 yards, can he shoot a three? I think you get my message. And to top it off I think the international olympic comittee are idiots for taking baseball out of the Olympics. If the Europeans can't play teach them.

    I rest my case

  14. Baseball is a sport because it's diffuculty level is so high here is an example of my point.

If you take a guy who has never played sports and throw him into a pro game of football depending on size he could accomplish something tackle someone rush for a few yards because it's natural to the body phsically demanding but not super difficult to accomplish.

If you take that same person and put him in a Basketball game the odds are he would make one basket or rebound etc because there is always something going on and you could react it's more natural to the human body and not that demanding mentally..

Now with baseball you take that same guy and he faces pro pitching without ever holding a bat before and there is no way he will get a hit because as people have said for years the hardest thing to do in "SPORTS" is hit a baseball. Now if you count fielding again I highly doubt someone could read a fly ball in baseball and make the catch without everdoing it before.

Now heres what im saying im not insulting other sports im just saying they rely on athleticism to accomplish goals where as in baseball you could be the best athlete in the world and still not have the skill to bat 001.

So basically I am one of those people that feel baseball is a sport but people that compete in other sports are better athletes but probaly don't have as much skill at what they do.

For example and people might disagree but I feel Jose Molina for example a back up catcher who bats around 220 has more skill and talent then let's say Randy Moss but obviously Moss is the far superior athlete.

  15. If baseball had as much physical exertion as football there wouldnt be 162 games  thats why
