North America, South America, pretty much all of the western hemisphere, a huge following in most of Asia. We have field hockey and water polo, but not Baseball?

  1. The IOC is run by europeans what do you expect their going to keep mostly europeans sports in the olympics and throw all the american ones out.

  2. No its because americans always kick EVERY1s butts!!!!  no but not kidding my uncle is on the olympic like board thing and he said that there is no competition so they are kickin it out

  3. softball is going, not baseball.  softball doesnt really have the support, except people try to offer women same opportunities.

  4. Actually Baseball is pretty big in central america and asia.  I could argue to keep it.  Softball on the other hand has to go, i guess they have to chuck both as a title IX thing or something.

  5. Maybe if we rename it "cricket" They'll let us play!! Oooh I know! lets have tea while we play! Salt-water tea!

  6. Cricket is a really good sport. They have a new form of it called 20/20 cricket which only goes for a couple of hours and even some of you yanks seem to like it. I have to say that i watched the softball game between Aus and Jpn the other day and I was almost bored to tears. I couldn't wait for it to end. Having said that, Cricket won't be in the Olympics til at least 2020.

  7. Baseball is big in the US, the a few Carribbean islands (Cuba, Dominican) and a couple of Latin American countries (Venezuala and Mexico)... not many.  Not big in Canada at all.  Other than that, Japan is about it.   The US always wins, so the IOC thought it was getting boring.   Plus it is too time consumning in an already tight Olympic schedule.

  8. Some European countries such as Dutch, Italy, Spain, and Russia do play baseball. I would think it's more in line with "Is Baseball being tossed because it's next host nation/city (London) prefer Cricket over baseball?"
