  2. NO. Many vegetarian foods contain Gluten. If you need to be Gluten Free you have to cut those out of your diet.

Gluten is a high allergen. The disease Celiac Sprue is a sever from of that allergy.

  3. No, because gluten is found in grains, most notably wheat, which could be part of a vegetarian diet. Also, you can eat a gluten-free diet and include meat, because it has no gluten. They are two separate diets.

  4. No. Some vegetarians may also have gluten-free diets due to celiac disease or wheat allergies. But in general, being a vegetarian does not mean being gluten-free. Vegetarians eat foods with gluten, such as wheat, barley, and rye.

  5. Oh, no.  Seitan, which is made from wheat gluten, is a wonderful vegetarian substitute (it's sometimes called "wheat meat").  Unless you're celiac or wheat intolerant, you can have foods containing gluten.

  6. Gluten is from wheat flour, so you can be a vegetarian without sacrificing gluten.
