  1. Yeah, Berlin is a very diverse and multicultural city. It is a fantastic place with an amazing nightlife, friendly people and lots to see and do. But it would be very hard to be as multicultural as London.

There are some great Thai and Turkish restaurants there.

  2. Berlin has a very large Turkish population and many other nationalities are represented, but in much lower quantities.

Although there is an ethnic mix there I would not put Berlin in the same cosmopolitan league as London. Proportianately, Berlin is almost pure German compared with London. This is changing with time.

You can't get a decent curry there and the fish and chips are a joke but I have found  reasonable Thai and  Italian restaurants.

  3. Yes, Berlin has a large Turkish community, many foreign students make it a very lively city.

You can find all nationalties there. It is better than London because unlike London immigrants are not made to feel better than everyone else and have chips on their shoulders.

    Berlin is a great city

  4. Today's Berlin is a very multicultural place - "canela" probably never have been to Berlin at all...

  5. Not a student of history, are you?  London would win in that match up hands down.

  6. well, as berlin has the largest turkish community outside of istanbul i'd say it was fairly multicultural!!

i've lived here for 3 yrs now and i find it very diverse. as in most major cities you have certain areas that certain groups dominate i.e kreuzberg is predomniately turkish. i have personally found that berlin is more tolerant than london and is very proud of it's 'multi-culti' status.

  7. Yes, Berlin is very diverse/multicultural metropolis. Certainly cleaner in most parts than London, and the 'English' spoken in Berlin is better than London. *smile*

  8. They are both multicultural cities. But Berlin is a little more  "rough", a hard and sad history. The city is full of new, young and avant garde artists. It's a weird city, modern Germany mixed with old socialist symbols and buildings. A very interesting place to visit, you'll always find something that will  surprise you.
