Did Batman partially inspire the counterculture of the 60s? That's a good question that you ask.

I think it is ironic, when you think about it, because when Batman first burst onto the scene, he was a dark vigilante that defied the law. He was not friendly with the police. He provided a stark contrast to Superman. This occurred in the late 30s and early 40s. Any young person involved in the movements in the late 60s would have been too young to have lived through this period, HOWEVER, (many forget this) the counterculture of the 60s actually began in the 50s with the Beatniks and the idea of consciously going against the grain because society was not doing an adequate job of getting things done could have greatly influenced them.

It is ironic to note by the time the mid-60s came up, Batman was a authority figure working against the forces he might have inspired earlier.

Biden's just a really good choice.  He has years and years of experience in politics and I think he'll boost Obama's chances of winning.  He's already cut straight to the chase about the failures of the Bush administration.
