Well, under that piece of FISA trash that Bush gleefully signed the other day, they can spy on anybody anytime and the telephone companies can't be prosecuted for breaking the law.  

Nice, hu?  We can now kiss our Constitution goodby.  I certainly hope if we do get some leadership which isn't right wing we can revisit this bunch of illegal c**p and get it off the books - that's the Patriot Act with all the "Homeland" useless security that Bush absolutely had to have to waste more money.

I think its probably impossible to monitor every activity on the internet with even modern technology.

There are trigger words they may alert the system, but other then that, they probably are completely clueless to your question.

Yes.  Have you heard of Total Information Awareness?  Google it and you will either wet your pants, vomit, or both.  That is the reason the FISA was just approved by Bush's Congress, to make all of their illegal activity over the past 7 years OK.  The Senate just approved giving the tel-com companies immunity for their illegal spying on us.

Edit.  That is also why Bush wanted and Congress passed the National ID Act.  Only 3 states have refused to go along with their spying.  I think I will move to one of those states.

If they want to, who would stop them. They may be. Do you feel safe? They probably know more about us than we do about ourselves.

One thing I want to point out. How many banks have recently had security problems with debit cards, and electronic banking? Who has the authority, and the means to access information better, than the government, who has unlimited permission to hack into systems on such a large scale. My area, has had an alarming amount of such security breaches, in recent weeks. So much for homeland security.
