Is Bill Harragon regarded as one of the great referees??

Question

Everyone in Australia knows Bill Harragon is he one of the all time great refs or was he a show pony, I mean what about the "Gladiator's are you ready" that was a bit over the top, and one night on the pyramid he let Outlaw and Kouta block each others opponents and gave no penalties, I reckon his side kick "John" should have got more of a go. DISCUSS.

PS Is he famous for anything else in Sidinee??

He was a show pony. He wasn't bad but there were times he seemed to referee according to the rules of Bill Harrigan.

Col Pearce was good likewise Keith Holman and Jack Bradley. McCallum was OK.

Now are you talking about on the show or as a NRL referee? The show is scripted by the way. But as a NRL referee Bill is the best. He is the best bar none, case closed.

He is up there with the best.  The games flowed under him, there was not as much stop/start as there is now; as well as less penalties.  As much as you didn't like some of his decisions (Dragons fan here!) the players repected him.  As a video ref, he still takes less time than some of the others - like Russell Smith.  

Gladiators is scripted diferently, so your're judging apples with oranges here.  Spellcheck is a handy gadget don't you think??

P.S. What are you doing watching that mind void of a  show anyway??

Anyway, about your question, Bill was the worst ever. wow, you have taught me some more things. Mr. always "right". You have no clue about the NRL.
