  1. its spelled illegal

  2. Do you mean illegal?  Probably not...

  3. Not exactly, but a lot of people don't realize that if you make your own biodiesel (or run your car on straight veggie oil) you're supposed to fill out a buttload of paperwork to register yourself as a "fuel supplier" and a "fuel receiver" with the state, pay a big fee, and then pay taxes on every gallon of fuel you make and use. Otherwise, the state revenue bureaucrats can charge you with tax evasion and also various federal offenses. It's the same thing if you make your own ethanol and run your car on it - the stupid government flunkies only see you as a moonshiner and a tax cheat, rather than an environmentally-conscious consumer. Looks like Big Oil really does have the government in it's pocket.

  4. i dont think so, i can't imagine why it would be, i just did a big paper about biodiesel and didn't run across anything like that

  5. wow, you know I wouldn't be surprised if it became illegal. The silliest laws are being passed nowadays that are intended solely to protect the billions of dollars industries are making.

Just a few months ago, congress unanimously passed the "animal enterprise terrorism act" that will try to make ANY sort of  detriment to the animal indrusties profits considered terrorism. This included boycotting, peaceful protest, whistleblowing, even just telling your friend not to shop at X store because of Y reason.

It really made me imagine a day when it will become terrorism to NOT buy your gas exclusively at ExxonMobil, or to NOT buy a hummer.

If biodiesel and electric cars start becoming a real detriment to oil companies, yes I would bet that the government would just up and say "ok, all that is terrorism, you can't do it. you can't own an EV or use bio"

  6. I don't know the laws of Maine, but I do know that bio diesel will gel at low temperatures, so it is probably impractical much of the year in the climate of Maine. You would need fuel tank heaters or whatever to keep the fuel liquid.
