  1. Biodiesel is one of many biofuels. It's diesel produced from bio-matter, but there are other kinds of fuels using other biological matter - like ethanol, which can be produced from lots of things like grain byproduct, etc.

Biofuel is, typically - how I've ever heard it, used to refer to combustibles for engines, but I guess you could include things like peat (used for heating, common in the British isles) and even, well, wood. To be obscenely technical about it, coal and petroleum was once biological matter too...

  2. No, biodiesel is diesel base with 5 to 10 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester(FAME) from cocunut oil or jatrupa. Biofuel is purely  from peanut or cuconut oil or alcohol like methanol and ethanol. Biodiesel is for diesel engines and biofuel is a usual replacement for gasoline just like alcohol.

  3. A biofuel is any fuel made from organic material. Biodiesel is a biofuel. But it's diesel.

  4. no. biofuel is an organic compound! biodiesel is just a product of it! no wonder they both carry the prefix bio.
