Biometrics is especially relevant to technology that measures and analyzes physical and behavioral characteristics of individuals, like fingerprints, voice, and facial patterns. But, where is it taking us?

  1. where do want biometrics to take you? i mean they are tools. like any technology there is a potential for good and not so good use. if we assume that with ever increasing population and ever decreasing socialization, the use of biometrics for control is inevitable.  


  2. I envision a future world where all individuals will be identified by their DNA and other biological characteristics at birth and that this type of data will be transparent and available to everyone.

    Yes, Big Brother is waiting in the wings.  If we commit a crime and leave any biological evidence at the scene, we will be identified in close to real time.

    However, that doesn't mean that crime will cease to exist.  It just means that the successful criminals will need to be able to circumvent these biological markers which co-exist with them at all times.
