i purchased the sony KDF-55E2000 on black friday and i thought it was a full 1080p, but i didn't know the difference back then. now that i'm doing more research, i found out that it's only 1280x720p. i know that it supports 1080i resolution, so basically i wanna know if my ps3 and blu-ray movies are being displayed as 1080i or 720. please help me out..

  1. yup it will display video in 720p. Use 720p its better 1080i is a lower version of 720p. p is progressive scan and i is i forgot but worst than p

  2. Your movies will be displayed at 720p. The quality will be superb.

No fixed pixel display displays an interlaced image. So if you do not have a 1080p TV it will be displayed at 720p(assuming the set is at least high definition) and if you have a 1080p set everything(including DVD) will be upscaled by the set and displayed at 1080p.

  3. 720 is your maximum resolution BUT your sampling rate is twice that of standard 1080i, in my opinion, better. Faster responce, much crisper lines in high action sequences. richer colors, better shading........    I hope you get my point. Be happy with what you have, your picture should be outstanding.
