  1. Indeed it is.

As a Greek who lives in Boston  I can affirm that Boston resembles ancient Athens in many ways.

From cultural events to educational and medical advances Boston is rightly known as the "Athens of America".

And since you are a "redsoxfan", (possibly a resident of Boston?) you already know that well known medical institutions such as Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital all made the top list of the best hospitals in the USA.

Many internationally known colleges, such as Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University, Babson, Bentley and Berkley School of Music are all located in Boston.

Also POPs  symphony orchestra is one of the best in the country, the Museum of fine arts is housing thousands of artifacts, the Museum of Science and so many other institutions make Boston  resemble the modern   "Athens of America"

We are proud to live here for all of the above reasons as well  that we are home of the "Red Sox","Patriots" and "Celtics"!!!!

What more could we possibly want in a city?

Oh, the Parthenon? Well, for that we still have to visit Greece :-)

  2. OH... and all this time I thought it was the a**s of America... thanks for the correction... I've been spelling it wrong all these years

  3. Never been in Boston.Tell us more about Boston to be able let you know

  4. I think so b/c most of the greek people live there and there are so many in Boston and so little in Houston, TX where I 'm from and we have some here but not enough. Most of them gather in that area of the U.S. so that's why they call it "Athens of America".
