  1. It is a bloody sport because at any given time in a fight you can get a busted nose that leads to a broken nose. busted mouth which can go into a broken jaw and facial cuts which is a biggie that cause retina damage to the eye, blindness and becoming more easier for cuts to open. Once an opponent knows you can get cut easier that is what they will go for so the fight can get stop on cuts. If the cut on the eye is above the eyelid then it gets dangerous where the blood can go into the eye and that will cause a fight to be stopped.

  2. It can be.  It isn't the goal or anything but if you compete by punching and being punched, as well as swinging elbows and heads in the clinch, the skin will tear at some point.  If a cut is opened over an eye and it bleeds to the point where someone can't see it can stop a fight, as well as if a cut is opened up enough to where a doctor can't allow it to be hit any further.  But one of the first things to usually happen to a boxer is having his nose broken, which is why people that have boxed usually have flat noses.  There will be blood at that point and the fight will almost always continue.  So to sum it all up.  There isn't always blood, but I would say that blood is an inevitable and expected part of the sport.

  3. Well, the goal of boxing is to inflict brain damage on the opponent, generally by causing concussion and internal bleeding in the cranium.  So yes.

  4. No, it isn't. It's a martial art. But it can be if someone gets cut as someone else already mentioned.
