  1. Name your child after a country....?

  2. To me it depends on the pronounciation.

Bra-seel  could be sweet. But it would probably always get pronounced bra-zill

  3. it is okay...how about Brasillia or Brazylia with the y pronounced as ee

  4. NO it is not at all!!! sorry.

if you want to use another countrys name try one of these

    India

    Ireland

    China

that is all any of the others would be too cheesy in my opinion! good luck!

  5. No, I don't think it's a good name.  First it made me think of bras.  Then it made me think of basil, which is both a spice and a boy's name.  Then it made me think of Brazil, which wouldn't be an awful name, but I tend to think place names are a bit cheesy.

If I were you, I'd keep looking.  If you're interested in a cool (and subtle) place name, how about Charlotte Amalie?  It's the capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands.  If you're interested in honoring your Brazilian heritage, you can look here for Portuguese names:

  6. NO, people are going to either think Brazil or Basil.

On a side note~ Brazil is an awesome country and I am rather fond of Basil as a spice.

  7. Why would you name her after a country NO!

dont do it why not Bethany..or Brittney

  8. That's spanish for Brazil... so no.

  9. psh! Everyone says no, but I say YES! I agree with Bekkie - If you pronounce it as Bra-seel [with an accent], it sounds nice. But if you pronounce it Bra-zil, it just sounds sort of tacky. Congrats on the baby by the way! Good luck choosing names :D

  10. Im named Brasil. The spanish translation of Brazil. It sounds like Braseel.

Its unique. When i was little i had fun with my name because i was the only Brasil plus i was born in Brazil

  11. No.

  12. Well, it's a unique name, but It does sound to much like the spice basil.

  13. No.

  14. I hadn't ever thought of that.  It isn't bad, I don't know that is my favorite but I think if you played with the way it is said and spelled it so people knew how to say it, it might work.  Why can't you name your kid after a place?

  15. no

  16. i like it and i think it's unique! stick with it if you like it! just make sure you pick a real pretty middle name :]

good luck and hope it helps
