Question:

Is Brett Favre a diva?

And has he cost us more Super Bowls than hes won?

Also after all this and the rift he has created, should the Packers (years down the road) still retire Favres number and put his name up on the stadium with other Packers greats?

And for Packer fans, now that Brett has said he wont take the starting job in Green Bay but instead wants to go to Chicago or Minnesota how do you feel about the legendary QB now.

and one more, what would Lombardi say about all this? how would he handle this whole situation?

  1. No, he just wants to play.

  2. Can't speak for Lombardi or anyone else, can only speak for myself. Brett is a very immature person who has been cuddled by some of the Packer fans and media.   Now we are seeing more of what he really is like,  selfish and self centered plus I have lost a great deal of respect for his wife in this matter.  I have never heard of another players wife so involved in these matters.   Will they retire his number, I think they will and should no matter how this turns out he did achieve some all time records has a Packer and they did win a superbowl,  I would not allow the emotions of both sides to ruin that.  However it will be awhile before they heal and hopefully forget this moment in time and focus on the good.

  3. I don't know. In Lombardi's day, you wouldn't have a situatiuon with the player battling the management. Also Brett will still retire with the team, whether he stays retired or if he signs a one year deal and retires his number that way. Down in Green Bay, right now, the fans have started a chant, "Bring back Brett". Also, one of the Safties has changed into a Brett Farve jersey

  4. You're stand is screwed up. He's been undermined by management for years. He wanted Steve Mariucci, management told Brett they'd contact him; they lied.

Randy Moss: Brett lobbied for him, with the same result!

They've screwed with him, hung him out to dry in front of the world; it's been going on for awhile, and you blame Brett?

  5. He was a pretty humble diva for 17 years.  Now he wants play ball again.  The Packer organization has mishandled the entire situation while at the same money making a lot of money as a result of Brett Favre's tenacity and dedication.  His legacy will go on, but the Green Bay Packers will always regret that they lost him.

  6. The answer to your question is YES! I finally gave up reading the saga because it got so pointless. In my opinion Farve is at the end of his years in the NFL *no duh* and has decided to prolong his dwindling career in anyway he can. If that means causing a big fuss over who he plays for in his big "return" and when he'll do it that's fine with him. Media Darling is his ultimate goal. I do wonder though, if the whole things turns around and bites him in the butt... I guess will see!

  7. Look, I love Brett Favre but there comes a point where you need to make a decision and stick to it.  Regardless of his intentions, its going to look like he needs the spotlight.

I think Lombardi would kick his a$$ for this, personally.  He wouldn't tolerate it.

Put his jersey up in the stadium...he's earned it.  Plus, he is one of the reasons the stadium was filled for games for the past umpteen years!

  8. Brett will some how talk his way back into the packers

  9. Farve won a superbowl <----- SEE! He won a superbowl and was one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. Saying that he cost you a superbowl isn't a very intelegent thing to say, considering he's one of the greats. He made the Packers the team that they were. Before Farve the Packers were the Dolphins of last year, but almost ever year for years.. Give the guy a break. And I'm a Vikings fan btw.
