Wayne Bridge has decided to make himself unavailable for England selection.

    There’s two ways of looking at this. First, England will be able to perform better without Wayne Bridge in the squad because of his fractured relationship with John Terry and the media scrum which would inevitably ensue at the World Cup finals. But on the flip side, if Ashley Cole fails to recover from his ankle injury, they will have to make do with another left-back who may not be in the same class as Bridge.
