Is Brockton, MA. a nice City? Is there some nice tourist attractions?

I'm visiting a friend in his City. It's called Brockton. It's in MA. He says it's a really nice City with lots to do and see. Does anybody know this City? It'll be my first time visiting him.

The best thing about Brockton is that it is close to boston.  Some parts are real ghetto.

As a former resident of Brockton. I lived like 2 seconds from 24 (thank god for that) I will be honest. Brockton is a total pit lol There is absolutely nothing to do, and don't bother going "downtown" it's scary as h**l, especially at night. I hope the cops have got all the gangs under control too.

If he knows a "nice part" of the city...i'd like to know where it is. We moved the h**l outta there to Bridgewater! We'd never go back. lol

skinnyamerican is right...

locals refer to brockton as "broke-town"; it's not completely ghetto but it's not a really nice city by any means. parts of it are actually kind of pretty though. there's not much to do in brockton itself, but you're not far from some fun stuff to do. just go and visit your friend, and i'm sure you'll have a good time.

I agree with the other answers.

Brockton is not exactly what I'd call a tourist destination.  The only thing I can think to do there would be catch a baseball game at the local minor league baseball stadium.  Other than that, I'm hoping he's planning to take you in to Boston as there is a lot to do/see there.

HONEST ANSWER? Not really....it's about 25 miles south of Boston.....it's a "working class" city, mostly urban.......it has a mix of people so it's not really a ghetto but it's kinda run down.....crime is so-so; not as bad as a few inner city Boston neighborhoods but not as good as a "nice' suburb. Don't be scared, it's not really BAD you could do alot worse.

Actually, you're not far from alot of things it's just they're all outside of Brockton, but nothing is really far apart.
