  1. No, as far as I know, burqas are not forbidden in Germany, even though I've never seen any here in Germany.

Anyways there is a German law that prohibits wearing masks or other objects to cover the face in a STRIKE or DEMONSTRATION. This law has the purpose to enable the identification of rowdys and other participants of that event.

  2. It´s not forbidden, some muslems wear it. What you really mean is the prohibition to wear masks in a demonstration. You have the right to demonstrate but you have to show who you are.

  3. No, it's not illegal to wear one when going about your business, but during demonstrations, it is.  I've seen women in Arabic veils (niqab) in Germany before.

  4. It is not forbidden to wear it in public, even though right now there is a debate going on about whether or not people in jobs such as teachers are allowed to wear it.

It is a sign of religious affiliation, which is not to be displayed.

But the discussion is still going on, we don't have any laws about it yet, every case is different.

  5. The law is called "Vermummungsverbot" and prohibits

wearing a mask (or something else that covers your

face) during a public demonstration. Otherwise you're

free to wear whatever you want.

  6. it is not true .
