It's obvious the country now has even young people heavily interested in who will be the next Prez, counting down the days to when someone will have to put on an embarrassing state dinner for GWB, with death and destruction spreading, millions lose their homes, trillion wasted on phony war, invasions of privacy, censorship, etc, etc. Do you agree that his legacy will be the point in history where all people woke up to use their voice and vote? 1. It would be a major accomplishment if anyone could awaken the American public to the danger of anything.

You can take away their rights and tell them it is for their own good, and they believe it.

You can tell them there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and they believe it.

You can tell them Y2K is real, and they believe it.

You can tell them global warming is caused by man, and they believe it.

So , no , I don't believe Bush's legacy is awakening the American people to anything, and especially not  to our own apathy.

  2. Oh, he is going to have a legacy, that is for sure.  Your question, however, may be a way for at least one minor legacy bullet point that has some positive attributes.  But, for the most part, it is a good thing W doesn't read much. He might have to take up drinking again before going out in public.

  3. There is a video about evidence being gathered for trying Bush, Rumsfeld for War Crimes or maybe d**k Cheney. Another about Scot Land Yard gathering information  on Tony Blair for same. Cannot speak for source though. U Tube Video.  Might also be it mighthave woken  uppeople  to fact Islamic Caliphate not required that Unity of Muslims,Christians, and jews of The Book is a route instead of a nation under religious law a united religion. Wake up to danger of waking the wrath of muslims. Also deaths of four Black Water mercenaries guarding kitchen ware ambushed  killed and a siege following at Fallujah. Thousands of citizens fled or died. Many more throughout Iraq in Air Raids.

  4. Without reading your references, I whole heartedly agree with you.  What preplexed for all of his  term was why wasn't hr impeached?

  5. ya_staff has a point, Lincoln was very hated in his time, and if you think the Patriot Act is bad, you should read some of the anti-constitutionist things Lincoln did.  He had the mayor of Baltimore arrested and the newspaper shut down because he did not like what they had to say.  And he took the country to war, against the other half of itself.  Now he's revered as one of the best presidents we've ever had.

  6. One would hope that it would be that people would recognize the sound values of his policies, which have increased tax collections, increased growth, reduced unemployment to the lowest levels in history, and prevented any more terrorist attacks such as the 9/11 fiasco.

  7. Bush is not as great as some claim nor is he as bad as others claim.

Too early to see what his legacy will be.

Lincoln was widely hated in his time.

  8. You have it right.

  9. great point unfinished!

one can't help but think that our country got exactly what it deserved... thank god that college students and other young people are getting off the a**es this time!!   VOTE!!
