Question:

Is Bush a "moron"?

I read a lot of people refer to Bush as a "moron". Can you explain how a moron won the Presidency from the "smartest" man in the world. (That was Gore if you forgot). How did this idiot play Nancy Pelosi like a fool at every turn. He has gotten everything he wanted through her Democratic congress? You may not like him but if he is a moron what are Pelosi and Gore/ You can commit on the "hero" Kerry also.

  1. Bush is often called a "moron" because he often makes up his own words, does not speak intelligently, and has little knowledge of foreign policy, countries, the names of foreign leaders or how to pronounce them.  His poor mismanagement of funds, lack of policies, and failure to act promptly have lead the U.S. into its next recession.  He's not a "complete moron," but he is pretty close.  I fully support our troops; but I do not support the way Bush started the war without United Nations or congressional approval.  There are different branches of government in order to allow for "checks and balances" so we don't end up with a Castro, and Bush disregards policy when it suits him.  The war was started because of non-existent weapons of mass destruction, that have still not been found, poor intel, and without proper approvals.

Bush won the second time around; but considering so many votes were uncounted and erroneous due to the way the ballots in Florida were set up, who knows if he won the first time?  He has royally screwed the economy... the money spent on the war could have gone towards so many other things... like maybe finding that a.s.s hole Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan.  Granted, no one is perfect, even we have our moments when we aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but Bush has too many to be president of one of the most power countries in the world.  There is no way that after his 8 years are up anyone can honestly say "Job well done!"  The dollar is at an all time low, banks gave credit away like candy and now those lax credit policies are biting them in the a.s.s., the mortgage crisis is laughable, and now Bush is pushing for a bail out (another major expense) but what choice does he have, there aren't enough apartments for all the people who will be loosing their homes and the banks will be in further trouble.  Regardless of who wins the next election, it will take well over four years to fix this economy.

To sum up, Bush has at times been a moron and several other things I can think of.  The fact that Gore, Pelosi, and Kerry have their shortcomings too, do not make this any less true.

And yes, I agree with your edit.  I have seen children give better speeches than Bush.  It's a bit embarrassing to have him "speaking" on behalf of all Americans when he speaks so poorly.

    *** Response to your edit***

    1.  Whether or not Saddam gassed the Kurds; that was in 1988!!!  Bush was not president, his Dad was VP.  When everyone was mourning 9/11 Bush used that to begin his "War on Terror" yet he somehow forgot to go after the people responsible for this tragedy.  Bin Laden & the Taliban in Afghanistan, not Saddam in Iraq.

    2.  I don't understand how this refutes what I said?  Yes, bush went to the U.N. and when he didn't get the answer he wanted, he ignored them and proceeded with the war anyway.  That is like a child asking to go out and play, and when Mom says "no" the child goes outside anyway but argues that at least he asked first.  Rules are set in place for a reason.  And what about congressional approval?  he acted unilaterally, plain and simple; asking first and then ignoring the "no" make absolutely no difference.... he should have just not asked if he planned to ignore.

    3.  Sure, there were some problems with the economy, and now there are MASSIVE problems with the economy.  Bush did that.

    4.  The elderly in Florida complained that they thought they voted for Gore, but the structure of the ballots was confusing.  There were people who were not felons on the felony do not vote list... most of those people were minorities who typically are Democratic.

For every rebuttal you make, there is always a larger one in response.  Bush is a moron.... his approval rating shows that he has lost much support.

  2. Gore actually isn't that smart, and Bush has a higher IQ than Kerry if that's how you want to manage intelligence. As a libertarian I don't agree with all of his decisions but I do have to admit that he has a strong moral character. And I don't think he's a moron, I think he just isn't a very good public speaker. Maybe he gets nervous.
