Nothing fancy, maybe a pasta take out, etc Just want to gauge how much would it cost for meals. I could get a decent meal for USD6 - USD10 in New York...etc

  1. If you go to Migros/Coop (both supermarket Restaurants) you have quite a good  choice. They are not too fancy but you might get something good for this price. Pls avoid  sandwiches sold in the streets - far too overpriced, a simple rip off! Try the famous roasted "Bratwurst" at Bellevue corner - it's a simple must and the best one's in Zürich.

  2. go in Migros ,Coop...Denner

  3. I would say more in $15.00  in a restaurant

Like other said, Migros or Coop would be the best bet. It is buffet style.

  4. yeah if u just buy the pasta and make it home sure

  5. ya you can het a pizza for 5-6 francs and still save 3 francs

  6. You can't get a whole McDonald's menu for that, but you can get:

Nordsee Baguette (at the train station): 4.90

Bratwurst or Servala mit Burli (sausage and bread): usually around 6-7 CHF

pretzel with cheese or sausage (Bretzel Konig, in a couple of the train stations): again 6-7

Or go to the Coop takeaway on Bahnhofbrucke for a few under-8CHF choices.

What you CAN'T get for that is a drink, unless you go into a grocery store. At any of the above, or at a Kiosk, a 500ml coke will be 4 or so CHF. (In the grocery store, 1.50 maybe) However, although at a sit-down restaurant they won't appreciate it if you don't buy a drink, it's no problem at a take-away place.

  7. Go to a Bakery and get bread. Go to a Migros deli counter and get sliced Tirolerwurst.

  8. Look up the 'Krishnas'.Switzerland is expensive.

  9. hello

  10. it depends what you consider a simple meal. If you're looking for a simple restuarant, then no, but if you go to a bakery and get a cheese pie or the Migros or Coop resaurant (I prefer MIgros) it's self serve and goes by weight.
