Is Calcium hydroxide (CHUNA in Hindi), a bone-regeneration stimulant ?

Will dissolving CHUNA or Calcium hydroxide in water overnight help fight osteoporosis, because then Calcium will go in the body in more soluble form ? Is it not a better way of taking Calcium as a supplement for increasing bone density, THAN taking 500mg of Calcium allopathic tablets daily ?

Or will the CHUNA(lime) water do harm to the intestines ?

(The idea is to take Calcium in the MOST READILY SOLUBLE WAY,which can be done by dissolving CHUNA overnight, other than via tablets where the entire 500 mg just doesn't get fully dissolved/absorbed by the body).

  1. this chuna is different then the chuna that help for bones.that chuna is bhuja hua chuna. more over it will be good if you cosult a   doctor   because these days cheap suppliments areavailable in the mkt. those are better.

  2. post menopausal women need to take one gram of calcium supplement daily. Chuna does not dissolve well in water, and is an alkali. it will react with the hydrochloric acid in the stomach and be absorbed as calcium chloride. you could get problems if you take too much chuna. better to take supplements which are safer, such as calcium suphate or calcium citrate
