Is Camperdown a suburb of Sydney NSW?

I recently applied for a job in Camperdown where Prince Alfred Hospital is located. Is it near Sydney downtown area?

its located on misseden rd. misseden leads into king st which is newtown and you can catch any 420's bus (422, 423, 426, 428) into the city, essentially 5 min ride. the hospital is borderline newtown/camperdown, kinda like sydney uni

Don't get it mixed up with Campbelltown, an outter south-western Sydney suburb.

Yes, Camperdown is an inner city suburb just a few kilometres south west of the Sydney CBD.

It is about 5 kilometers west of Sydney and right next to Newtown. You can get a 412 bus from Town Hall (George St & Bathurst St outside Energy Aust) to  the BP Petrol station on the corner of Missenden rd and Parramatta rd (less than 25 mins) and then walk about 200 meters to the Hospital.
