Is Canada entering a recession?

I do not believe that Canada is entering a recession but if I am wrong I believe it will not be as deep and long lasting as the recession in which America currently finds itself.   There are two reasons:  firstly, our economy is strongly based on commodities.  Our natural resources, especially oil, natural gas and minerals are in high demand and will continue to be for some time to come.  The second reason is that even though we are riding a commodity high our economy is diversified.  We have everything from tourism to resourse extraction to high tech to banking to B.C. bud.  Our economy shows signs of slowing but it will not crash. I have been around long enough to know that one should not say "never", but the fundamentals are strong and the feeling positive.

Wow you guys up there are having problems too. Maybe it seems like the whole world is having some economic problems.
