  1. Canada is quite underpopulated. It is the second largest country in the world, and yet it has a population of about 30 million people. To put it in perspective, Bangladesh is one of the smallest countries in the world, just Northeast of India. It is about the size of the Canadian Province of New Brunswick, and yet it has a population of about 114 million people.

As a proud Canadian, im quite glad that our country is underpopulated. The space is very liberating.

    hope that helps!

  2. In fact, canada could contain more people than the US.

  3. Yes, in the sense of over-, under- and optimum population.

Under-population is basically where there are too many resources for the population to give a perfect standard of living. [S.O.L ALWAYS had to appear in our Geog. answers!]

Canada is under-populated, because in the 90's it could have doubled its 90 something million population, and still have been under-population because of its amount of natural resources.

    XD

[I used to LOVE that question!]

  4. Perhaps somewhat, but I wouldn't say "canada could contain more people than the US". It is only 3.6% bigger than the United States and much (if not most) of its land mass in uninhabitable, being located in harsh Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. Because of this, only 4.57% of Canada's land is arable (18.01% of the United States' land is arable).

In fact, 75% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US-Canada border.
