  1. Well you've asked enough questions for 10 people.  When asking about a specific city the correct phraseology is the city name, the province and if necessary the country.  ie.  Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Also acceptable, Calgary, Alberta or Calgary Canada.  NOT Canada, Calgary


  2. Regular wall outlets are typically 120 volt, 60 hertz, 15 amp circuits. They are configured with a 3 prong polarized plug (Type B plugs), using 2 vertical flat slots and a round grounding o*****e below the flat slots. Not all appliances require the grounding plug, so it is optional. Almost all modern electronics have a polarized plug, so outlets are configured with one slot slightly larger than the other to ensure that the correct polarity is maintained. 240 volt power is available for high current load appliances like stovetops and clothes dryers, but 240 V outlets are not commonly found in houses except for these applications.
