Capungturan is swampy on its surrounding shoreline but most part of it is planted to coconut and other agricultural crops. It lies near the mouth of the Golden River in Basey, Samar on its northern end and the Lawaan River on the western end, and is just about 300 meters across the sea from the wharf of the town proper.
