  1. Carnival is the biggest cruise line in the world. They own Princess, Costa, Cunard, Holland America and of course Carnival. You can't get to be that big by offering a poor product, so yes they are a good cruise line. Now a better question would be if it is good cruise line for you. Carnival is more of a party type cruise. Lot's of activities all geared towards active people. So if you are looking for an extended period of just relaxation they might not be the cruise line for you.

  2. Having been on both RCL and Carnival. I would have to agree with the fact Carnival has gotten a bad rap. I wouldnt cruise on RCL again.

Carnival had so many activites and things to do in the day and evening it was impossible to do everything, and trust me we tried. On RCL we felt like they rolled up the sidewalk after 9p. We are 40 something adults, so dont get the idea all we want to do is party, but yes, there was quite a bit going on but you could really choose what and how much "participation". We have traveled both with and without our kids and actually found that during the school year there are almost no kids on the boat (we take our daughter out of school in May to cruise). Whether you are on Carnival or RCL there will be toddlers since school isnt a problem.

I found the food better or Carnival and the buffet and pizza far superior. I didn't see if RCL has supper clubs, but the ones we have tried on Carnival have been awesome.

Excursion pricing is very similar but I think Carnival has better pricing than RCL. ONe day we may try Princess or HAL, but right now we are working towards platinum ...lol

Have fun whatever you choose, cruising is fantastic

  3. Carnival did not get to be the biggest by being bad.

I've been on three Carnival cruises, three Royal Caribbean cruises and two Norwegian cruises (plus one other).  Carnival is as good as any of these lines.

Carnival is a high energy family friendly line.  So is Royal Caribbean and Norwegian.  Carnival does somethings better than the other two, the other two do somethings better than Carnival.

I have enjoyed all three of my Carnival cruises and have two more booked (I also have two more booked with Royal Caribbean).

So yes, in my opinion Carnival is a good cruise line.

  4. Like everything else ---you get what you pay for.

Some lines give more, some less.

  5. Well it depends on what type of cruiser you are. Aboard a carnival boat you will be involved in high energy activities and your surroundings may be somewhat overwelming.Although carnival is rated the #1 cruise line.  If you would like a nice relaxing cruise try princess or Royal carribean.

  6. Very good.

    Kids will love it

Lots of adults to do, seeing as they have a kids program you can drop kids off at

Casio and bars are pretty nice, though i never got old enough to actually use them XD

    Food is excellent

Did I mention the pools, hot tubs, food on the upper decks, and the arcade?

  7. Carnival has gotten a bad rap, plain and simple.

I went on a Carnival cruise for my honeymoon and LOVED it.  There were families, young couples, friends, old couples, and singles on the cruise I took.  I think that Carnival does tend to get more young party people when its spring break and such, but any other time, you will find a nice mix of people.

I enjoyed all the amenities that a Carnival cruise offers... the spa, casino, cafes, lounges, running track/ gym, shows, port activities, and onboard activities...

Someone else said that everyone has their own preference, and that is absolutely true.  I know people who won't cruise with anyone except Princess, and that is great for them, but I do think that you should give Carnival a chance, they're great!

  8. Most of the major cruise lines are very competitive with each other, and Carnival is one of them.  Most people have a preference of one cruise line over another based on there own personal preferences, not on any specific problems with the cruise lines.  I tend to take Holland America more often than the other because they have more of an adult crowd.  Carnival cater to more families and children.  If you have kids, or don't mind being surrounded by them, this is a great line to take.

  9. For your first cruise it is a good option.  My husband and I first went on Carnival.  If is definitly more of a party boat.  The food was okay, and don't expect too much from the buffets.  It was usually plain food that reminded me of college.  The sit down dinners were nice though.

  10. I've always perfered Royal Caribbean. Carnival is more party and lots of kids. And Royal Caribbean is more about relaxtion and fun.

I've been on four Royal Carribean crusies and will never cruise with another company.
